Good with Dogs? Yes. She is being fostered with a small, grumpy, senior dog and has been good with her, although she REALLY would like the “granny dog” to play! She has met many dogs of varied ages / sizes and is appropriate with her introductions off leash. When she’s on leash, meetings are a bit rowdy - we are working on this!

Good with Cats? She has had one encounter, with a dog savvy cat, and was curious but polite.

Good with Kids? Yes, but we would recommend older kids as she is a big, strong, derpy pup that is still learning not to mouth or jump up when she’s excited; we are working on both these issues and making good progress.

Nala is spayed, de wormed, microchipped and up to date on vaccines. She MAY need to have a retained baby tooth removed at some point, at the adopter’s expense. Our vet team has advised us to leave it for a couple more months to see if it will come out on its own.

Housetraining: She has been very good at doing her business outside and seems to understand the assignment!

Nala will need a detached home, as she can be quite vocal when she is not pleased with something. She does NOT like to be separated from her people and will let the whole neighbourhood know when she has suffered such an injustice!! We are currently working on crate training for when she needs to be left alone.

Although we are only guessing her breed, she is, without a doubt, intelligent and would thrive in a home that is willing to provide both physical and mental stimulation to a) keep her out of trouble b) give her the life she absolutely deserves. The ideal person/family should appreciate a “busy dog”! We think she would do great at scent work and/or agility.

She attaches to her people hard and fast and when her needs are met, she is a delightful companion who has so much potential!

Nala sleeps soundly in a crate beside our bed.

We have been working on her off leash skills on the river valley trails and it is going brilliantly as her recall is excellent! She loves to play chase with her friends but is very good at shifting gears when the other dog has had enough. She has been very good at reading other dogs body language and will match her vibe accordingly💕

Nala will make a brilliant addition to a person/family who is looking for a true companion to share their time with.
