Adoptable Dogs

Hey Mister 👋🏻
Mister is here, ready to accept your applications for his Furever Family 💕
He came to us very fluffy! But, now he's been all groomed up and he's feeling good.
This boy lives to cuddle, cuddle, cuddle! He longs to be barnacled to you at every opportunity!
If you love the snuggles, he's the one for you! 💖
More About Mister:
Age: 6 yrs, 9 months (according to the vet docs)
Breed Best Guess: Poodle Cross
📍Location: Spruce Grove
Size: Medium, currently underweight, about 20 lbs.
🏡He’s in a house with a small dog and does well. So far he likes to keep to himself and hasn’t played much but it’s also been a very busy week for him.
I suspect he would be fine with a cat. 🐈
🚸As for kids, likely only older kids as he’s a bit scared and timid with any type of sudden movement.
He’s house trained and hasn’t had any accidents.
His foster has only left him once during the day in the kennel for a couple hours and he was settled the whole time.
Overnight he’s getting up to pee once or twice and does struggle a bit to settle. His foster thinks it may be while he adjusts to her home.
No signs of food aggression, on a soft food diet because of recent dental work.
Knows how to sit on cue.
✂️Will need regular grooming as he has very curly hair.

Bea
Bea the Beagle!
💝 Now accepting applications. 💖
More about Bea:
Age: 5 years, but an “old soul”
Breed: Beagle
Size: About 20 pounds 🏋🏼♂️
📍Location: East Edmonton
🐕Good with Dogs? EXCELLENT!
She has had exposure to multiple dogs and is very happy to be around them, although she has yet to show interest in playing. Another dog in the home would help with her confidence. She has been the ideal companion for the foster home’s resident grumpy old dog!
🐈Good with Cats? Untested, but at this point we have seen no indication that she would harass a cat in the home and it would be well worth a try.
🚗Good in the Car? Unsure! Sometimes she is fine, others times she gets an upset tummy. We are thinking it’s stress related.
⛹🏼♂️🚸Good with Kids? Untested, but due to Bea’s extreme shyness we do not think small children living in the home is in her best interest. This doesn’t mean that young kids can’t come for a visit, but will need supervision to make sure they respect Bea’s personal space until she feels comfortable interacting. Her foster mom really believes that with time and proper introductions Bea will be the favourite family member for ALL ages!
🏠Bea has come into our care from a rural setting where, as we understand, she was not an indoor companion. But, to be clear, she is NOT an “outdoor dog” and does not like, nor is built for cool temperatures! 🧥She is most appreciative of a warm bed and cozy sweater for fall walks!
~ She can be terrified of new situations and people; her tendency is for flight, so a secured yard is a must. We will be happy to pass on the techniques we found worked best for helping this awesome baby stay safe while respecting her “bubble”!
~ Although this little girl is extremely timid she has a heart of gold ❤️ and in a short time has become very happy in her foster home.
~ She needs a quiet 🤫 home with a human who will allow her the time to gain confidence and trust - at HER pace. No grabbing, no forcing, no rushing. Patience is essential but once she trusts you she will be a devoted friend for life. 💝
~ When Bea is left at home alone she bays; a detached home would be the best fit. 🎶🎵 She has only been left alone for short periods and stays in her crate for these occasions.
~ She sleeps 💤💤soundly in her cozy crate beside our bed at night
~ She is a great walking 🚶🏼♂️ mate on a harness and leash but IS a hound so does like to spend a bit of time sniffing about. This needs to be respected to fulfill her intellectual self!
~ She is part mountain goat and likes to jump up onto whatever gives her a better view point! A “perch” in the window will be essential for her happiness
~ House training has gone well. She has only had 1 accident while in care. 🪠🧻
~ As per our wonderful partner vets at Windermere Vet Hospital, she will need a dental 🪥in the future as she has some tarter that needs to be removed before it causes significant gum disease! Her foster mom is getting her used to having her teeth brushed so that after a good cleaning, her adoptive home can maintain her oral hygiene and avoid future dental expenses!
After only being in our home for two weeks, Bea has become an absolute delight to have as a house guest. She is neither demanding, nor high energy and is just the loveliest 💕
Please research the Beagle breed so you understand the general expectations for this type of companion.
